UIM Election in Abu Dhabi

The UIM General Assembly will be hosted in Abu Dhabi. Rules will be discussed, strategy´s for the future will be evaluated and launched – and clubs have submitted proposals via their NA's to the General Assembly. Most interesting will probably be the election for the UIM President. Here's the list of candidates with short info about of each of them:
Name: Raffaele Chiulli
Date of Birth: Rome, 22nd of January 1957
Education: Doctor of Sciences with honours from the University of Rome and had post graduate education at Duke University (U.S.A.), INSEAD (France) and IMD (Switzerland).
Powerboating history: served the International Power Boating Federation (UIM) for many years as President of the UIM Pleasure Navigation Commission, Member of the UIM Council, Member of the Power Boat P1 Management Committee and UIM Commissioner for the Endurance and P1 World and European Championship. Currently the eighth UIM President, elected on the 11th of November 2007 at the 80th UIM General Assembly. He was elected on the 24th March 2009 as Council Director at the ARISF ‐ Association of IOC Recognized International Sports Federations ‐ General Assembly in Denver (USA). ARISF represents all the International Sports Federations recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Awards: The President of International Olympic Committee J. A. Samaranch awarded to him a Diploma for his remarkable contribution to the development and promotion of sport, Olympic values and principles, friendship and solidarity among nations and people. He received by the President of the Italian Olympic Committee G.Petrucci the prestigious Gold Star of Sport Merit. Upon proposal of the Prime Minister and Decree of the President of the Republic of 2 June 2010 he was awarded the title of Knight of Merit of the Italian Republic.
Current positions: Raffaele Chiulli holds the following main responsibilities: ● Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eurofuels S.P.A., a company active in the waste to energy business and in energy trading ● Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Fusine Energia S.r.l., a company active in energy production from renewable resources ● Energy Director and Member of the Regional Management Team at Holcim Central Europe ● Founder and Chairman of Safe, non‐profit Association, Centre of Excellence for Energy & Environment ● Director of the Post‐Graduate Programme “Management of Energy Resources” Previous assignments include senior management positions in the oil & gas industry as well as board membership in multi‐national energy companies. Professor at the Universities of Rome and Pisa for classes on economic and strategic aspects related to the research and management of energy resources. Chairman of international panels, lecturer at Master Programmes and author of more than fifty publications.
